Florina Ilie

Romanian soloist

Florina Ilie is a Romanian soprano who began her musical journey at the age of 7. After dedicating 8 years to studying violin and 10 years to choir singing, she pursued her passion for opera at the National University of Music in Bucharest, refining her remarkable vocal abilities over six years of study.

At just 17 years old, Florina made her stage debut at the National Opera in Bucharest, performing as the Third Child in W.A. Mozart’s *Die Zauberflöte*. Since then, she has graced the stages of renowned opera houses, including Opéra-Théâtre de Metz Métropole, Opéra Nice Côte d’Azur, Opéra de Toulon, Oper Frankfurt, and Oper Darmstadt.

Throughout her career, Florina has taken on an array of iconic roles, such as Pamina (*Die Zauberflöte*), Susanna (*Le Nozze di Figaro*), Norina (*Don Pasquale*), Blonde (*Die Entführung aus dem Serail*), Gilda (*Rigoletto*), Marzelline (*Fidelio*), Adina (*L’elisir d’amore*), Valencienne (*Die lustige Witwe*), Micaela (*Carmen*), and Gretel (*Hänsel und Gretel*).

Her talent and dedication have been recognized in prestigious international competitions. Among her accolades are the First Prize and Award of Excellence at the “Paul Constantinescu” Competition, the Förderpreis der Opernstudio OperAvenir am Theater Basel at the “Otto Edelmann” International Singing Competition in Vienna, the First Prize at the “Ada Burlui” Lied Contest, the Förderpreis der Jungen Oper Austria at the ISA Sommerakademie in Vienna, and the First Prize at the “Sabin Drăgoi” International Singing Competition.

Florina completed her postgraduate studies at the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien, studying under the esteemed Professor Karlheinz Hanser. She further honed her craft as a soloist at Oper Frankfurt. In 2022, she began collaborations with Theater St. Gallen, Opéra Grand Avignon, and Opéra de Marseille.

Since 2023, Florina Ilie has been a soloist at the Vienna State Opera (*Wiener Staatsoper*), where her performances continue to captivate audiences and affirm her status as a leading soprano in the world of opera.
